Helen Lew of Coquitlam, BC, passed away peacefully at the age of 56 on Friday, December 30, 2022, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Helen will be fondly remembered as a gentle soul who had time for everyone, especially family. She always made an effort to talk with you, was genuinely interested in what you had to say, and didn’t shy away from asking questions to find out more!
She enjoyed cooking and baking, and spent countless hours watching her favourite culinary shows, looking for new ideas and recipes to try. And found pleasure in a variety of crafts.
She was a big Disney fan. Family members will attest that she loved anything “Winnie the Pooh,” and watching Marvel movies.
Later in life, Helen found enjoyment in travelling. In particular a magical cruise of the Mediterranean with Bruce in 2018, and the Bahamas with some family members in 2020.
Helen is predeceased by her father, Sing Jew Lew, brother Andrew, and sister Rose.
She is survived by her spouse Bruce of 34 years, mother May, sister Jeannie (Dan), brothers Peter (Joyce), John, Jack, Mike (Kelly) and William (Natalie), half siblings Jeannie (Norman) and Ian (Ada), nieces and nephews: Jason (May), Sean, Megan, Kristen, Brittany, Aiden, and Elliana. Cherished by Bruce’s family, sister‐in‐laws Amber (Geoff), Tammy (Gianti), nieces and nephews: Cassidy, Hannah, Sophie, Sydney, Sabrina, Casey, and many other family members and friends who knew and loved her.
An informal service and viewing for family and friends will be held Friday, January 13, 2023 from 3:00pm‐5:00pm at Kearney Burnaby Chapel, 4715 Hastings St, Burnaby, BC
