Harry was a remarkable man, always loved and close to his family – a kind and gentle friend to all, a mentor to many and one who led by example, always with kindness, wisdom, courage and optimism. Harry dedicated his life to golf and opened up an avenue for young people to learn the joy of the game by organizing and running golf tournaments that were challenging, fun and taught golf etiquette and good sportsmanship. He was a life-long member of Marine Drive Golf Club, a member of the 1969 and 1972 Willingdon Cup golf teams, played and won multiple golf tournaments and was a founding member of the B.C. Golf House Society.
