Harry Fridolf Johnson

August 5, 1929 — December 10, 2024

Harry, born in Birtle, Manitoba, grew up in Quatsino Sound, BC. He moved to Vancouver to complete high school at Kitsilano Secondary. He worked for the Vancouver School Board, a 35-year career, rising to Purchasing Manager. He was a Provincial President and National Director of the Purchasing Management Association. Retirement was spent at Secret Cove on the Sunshine Coast – boating, fishing and cruising the Coast. Harry was a very active member, and President, of the Sunshine Coast Golf and Country Club during its development and expansion from a 9-hole course to a full 18 holes. He also organized the fun Johnson Annual Invitational Golf Tournament for many years.

Winter months were spent in Mexico, driving there for many years and then settling on wintering in Nuevo Vallarta, enjoying the sunny climate and many friends. Harry is survived by his wife Donna, daughter Marcie (Warren), Grandson Jamieson (Stephanie) and Great Grandson Rhys.

He is predeceased by his parents Oke and Nora Johnson and brother Leonard.

The family would like to thank Laurel Place Hospice for the care they provided Harry.

Donations in memory of Harry could be made to the BC Cancer Agency.
