Gregory passed away peacefully on September 29, 2014 surrounded by his loving family in Vancouver BC, at the age of 84. He will be eternally missed by his wife Tasie, sons Gerasimos, Ken (Lola), George, Chris and daughter Kathy (Peter), loving grandchildren, Gregory, Elias, Gregory, Kali, Domenic, Anastasia and Costa as well as his many siblings, nieces, nephews and family members. Greg came to Canada with a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye in 1954, where he met many of his friends that he still kept in touch with until his passing. When his friend George's sister Tasie came to Canada, he was smitten and was asking him for her hand in marriage soon after. After only 11 days, they were married on February 6, 1957 and he continued to love her until his last breath. After working as a cook in camps throughout BC and Alberta, he moved his wife and 5 children to Vancouver where they reconnected with their friends and family. He later opened Knight & Day Restaurants where he continued to work until he retired at the young age of 80. He will be sadly missed by the many lifelong friends he had and the ones he lost will be all waiting for him in heaven. We would also like to sincerely thank the nurses on 9A at VGH hospital, especially Julie, for the patience and compassion they showed in the care of our beloved father.
Prayers will be held on Monday, October 6, at 7:00 p.m. at St. George's Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 4500 Arbutus Street, Vancouver where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 7, at 12:00 p.m. Father's Demetrios Partsafas and Dorotheos Tryfonopoulos officiating.
