The family of Gordon Doyle is saddened to announce his passing on November 25, 2016. He was born on July 9, 1947 in Vancouver, BC. Gordon was predeceased by parents, Michael and Edith; and is survived by his friends and family, Pat, brother, Barry; his four sons, Gordon (Ashleen), Tom, Trevor and Kyle; and his three grandchildren, Parker, Evelyn and Violet.
Gordon was born and raised in Vancouver, attending Eric Hamber Secondary School and later Simon Fraser University. He would go on to a successful career in business owning and managing a number of successful companies.
His family and friends will always remember him as a generous man; there wasn’t a Christmas Kettle or fundraiser Dad could pass by without dropping in a donation, nor was there a person he was unwilling to help if he felt help was needed.
Gordon’s family will never forget his smiling face cruising through Richmond in his convertible and he will be missed very much by his family, none more so than his grandchildren who affectionately called him “Papa-Papa.” Nothing made him happier than Sunday dinners with his sons and grandchildren.
The Doyle family wishes to thank the transplant team and the respiratory/thoracic unit at VGH for the outstanding, compassionate care Gordon received over the past two years and all the way through his final days.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation at www.tinyurl.com/GordonDoyle
