We regret to announce the passing of Gloria Elaine Virgil (Smith) in her 80th year. Beloved wife of Dr. Lefroy David Virgil, loving mother of Myra Lee Virgil (Marc Quig), Muriel Diane Virgil, Malcolm Alfred Virgil and Melissa Joanne Virgil (Rene George).
Daughter of the late Johnny B. Smith and Dosia Smith, sister to the late Johnny B. “Jack” Smith, Jr., Ernest Smith (Olinda), Robert Smith, the late Ronnie Smith, Lottie Brimm and Gerald “Jerry” Smith and brother-in-law, Christopher Virgil.
Gloria is lovingly survived by six grandchildren: Tiffany Jade Smallwood, Tasia Soleil Smallwood, Hailey Mackenzie Virgil Quig, Madison Sidney Virgil Quig, Isabella Starr and Ayana Smith.
Special friends: Rosemary Jones, Violet Haas (the late Edward Haas), family friends, Resela Wong-Sing (the late Joseph), Dr. Lionel Tenby, Josephine Lai, Ian and Ardith McLeod, Fred and Jill Whittaker and David Dixon, cousin Edith Warren, nieces and nephews: Ginger Smith, Hallie Oliver (née Smith), Michael Molten, Gerald Smith and Ernest Smith Jr. (Rachel), Lakesha Bullard and Faith Smith and extended family, Carlton Darrell (Jean), Majoria Johnson, Bill and Muriel Anderson.
She is lovingly survived by many more family members and friends too numerous to mention, including the sisters of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority.

Prayers will be offered on Friday, September 16th, 2022, at 11am at St. John the Apostle Parish in Vancouver, Canada and will be officiated by Reverend Anthony Ho. Colours may be worn at this honouring of Gloria’s life. Flowers may be sent to St. John the Apostle Parish, 5457 Trafalgar St, Vancouver, British Columbia, V6N 1C1, Canada or in lieu of flowers, a donation to the Diabetes Association (Vancouver) in memory of Gloria Virgil.
