Gilbert Semail, age 93, was born September 28th, 1928 in Vancouver, BC preceded by his parents Armand Semail and Jane Semail (née Horne) and his grandmother, Eugenie Horne (née Presle). He leaves behind his wife, Hélène Semail (née Rouillion), his two sons Marc (Tammy) Semail and Denis (Sonya) Semail, five grandchildren (David (Helen), Michael, Christopher (Jayden), Gabrielle, Chloé), his two great-grandchildren (Reid & Rowan) and his beloved cat Smokey.

Gilbert attended UBC, went on to become a teacher and spent most of his career teaching Math at Lord Byng High School. Gilbert was an intelligent and gifted young man who greatly enjoyed his time learning in University and later facilitating the learning of his students as a teacher. After his retirement in 1985, he continued playing ping pong at the local community center, gardening, reading in his spare time and playing card games with family and friends every evening. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and telling them stories of his fondest memories.

He passed away on the morning of Monday March 28th, 2022 in the comfort of his home. He will be dearly missed by all those he has left behind.
