Gerry passed away peacefully on Feb 18, 2021 in the comfort of his home with his loving and caring wife Nellie of 60 years by his side.
Gerry was predeceased by his sons Perry and Michael and daughter Frances, and brother Kees de Boer
He is survived by his wife Nellie and his children Joanne (Rene), Tilly (Warren), Miriam (Marck), Bob (Tammy), John (Jenny), Trudy (Gerard), Tony (Kara), Paul (Dana), and son-in-law Paul Stodola (Renee). He is also survived by his brother Ko de Boer and sister Truus Laan de Boer in Holland.
Opa/Opi will be missed dearly by his 23 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Gerry’s life began in Venhuizen, The Netherlands. He and Nellie emigrated to Canada in 1960, and together they raised their 11 children. He worked as an accountant for over 40 years and loved his garden. His final resting place will be at the Gardens of Gethsemani Cemetery in Surrey, B.C.

In lieu of flowers donations may be offered to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
Private mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday March 3 at 11am.
