Judy passed away peacefully in her 85th year at the German Canadian Care Home located in Vancouver with family by her side. She was the only child of the late Frank Cyrus Cook and Thelma (Bud) Cunningham whose family arrived in Vancouver in 1887. Judy enjoyed a wonderful life growing up in Vancouver attending St. Patrick’s Elementary and Secondary School. After graduating Judy continued studies in elocution and public speaking and trained others in that field. She then decided to enter into Holy Life with the Sisters of St. Ann however before completion she was called back to care for her ailing Mother. It was after this that Judy many months later met the love of her life, Russell Robertson Carruthers. She was very happily married to Russ for 43 years until his passing. Judy was an elegant woman, progressive, a natural caregiver to all her relatives, a cherished volunteer and spiritual mentor to many. She was a wonderful Mother, Mother-in-Law, Grandmother and Friend. Judy is survived by her two daughters Paula- Mae Rennie (Scott), Cara-Marie Furlan (Franck) and her three grandchildren Collin, Paige and Emma. Her kind-hearted spirit will live on forever.

Judy has requested a private family funeral Mass. She has asked that in lieu of cards or flowers that a donation to Covenant House be made in her name.
