It is with great sadness that we announce the
passing of our wonderful husband, father and
grandfather, George Mah. Predeceased by his
brother Tommy and sister May, he will be
missed by his loving wife Mona; children Robin
(Mina), Byron(Patti), and Laurie (Andrew);
grandchildren Adele and Wendy; brothers Dick,
Sonny, and Sammy; and sisters Sally and Daisy.
Born in Lamont, AB, George spent his youth in
Willingdon helping run the family’s café.  He later
attended Vancouver Community College, became
an electrician, and established Kenward Electric, a
Chinatown fixture for over 30 years. George
enjoyed skating and sailing in his younger days.
More recently he tinkered with old Austin Minis and
built a new family home. George will be remembered
for his kindness, friendly demeanor, storytelling
ability and talent for putting all who knew him at ease.
Special thanks to the Royal Columbian Hospital, the
International Medical Center (Tokyo), the Canadian
Embassy (Tokyo) and Air Canada for the medical
evacuation to Canada, UBC and Vancouver General
Hospitals, and Banfield Pavilion. In lieu of flowers,
donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of BC &
Yukon would be appreciated. An informal celebration of
George's life will be held at Cecil Green Park House on
Wednesday, January 5, 2011 from 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm.
