Francisco Dante Marpuri, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2023, in Vancouver at the age of 85.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years - Angelita, son Joseph, daughter Carmela and son-in-law William, and grandchildren Tinn/Hannah and Clara. Dante worked as a lab technician in the Philippines and South Carolina, USA, before immigrating to Trail, BC. He later worked as a lab technician in Oakalla Penitentiary before taking on the role of Corrections Officer at Oakalla and Surrey Pretrial Services Centre until his retirement.
He was a friendly soul and made many people smile with his jokes and good humour. He served as a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus for many years. The grandchildren were lucky to have Lolo and Lola coming to take care of them every morning when they were younger.
Viewing will be Friday, March 31, 9:30 am at Corpus Christi Parish 6350 Nanaimo St. Vancouver, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am by Fr. Bruce-John Hamilton, celebrant. Interment to follow at 1:00 pm at Ocean View Cemetery 4000 Imperial St, Burnaby, BC.
