Fred Franklin January 22, 1925- October 18, 2014. Fred died with his family by his side. Fred retired from the Vancouver Fire Department as a District Chief after 39 years of service.  Fred served with the Lincoln and Welland regiment during WWII and fought in Germany, Holland and Belgium. He was part of the liberation forces in Holland and after the war played with the Seaforth pipes and drums in Europe. He was a most accomplished Scottish tenor and bass drummer and drum major, and contributed his skills to many pipe and drum bands.
Survived by his wife of 63 years, Elise, children Lesley (Randy), Teresa (Mark), Blair (Christine), grandchildren, Vanessa (Max), Ashley, Michael, Graham, Kyle and Erin.
