Frank passed away peacefully in Burnaby, BC, on Feb. 3rd, 2021.  Beloved husband of 58 years to Joan.  Proud father of Russell (Lorraine Thompson) and Denise (David Gsponer).  Loving grandpa to Noah and Rachel.  Survived by sister Jan (Jim) Donaldson and many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by father and mother, Gus and Muriel Heyman and brother Bill Heyman.

Born in Montreal, QC, Frank moved with his family to Vancouver in 1940.  He graduated from John Oliver, working each summer on the Russell family farm in Glenboro, Manitoba.  After graduation, he worked at Scotiabank before attending SFU to become a teacher.  He taught for the Vancouver School Board for 30 years.  Teaching was his passion and took him on two wonderful adventures with his family to Germany where he taught at DND schools in the 70s and 80s.

He was a believer in lifelong learning.  Even in retirement, Frank continued to volunteer at elementary schools teaching his passion for kite making and gardening.  Frank had many interests including a love of history, was an avid reader, and loved going on cruises with Joan and their friends.

His storytelling and wonderful sense of humour will be truly missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers donations to Burnaby Hospital, Heart and Stroke Foundation, SPCA, or charity of your choice.

Due to COVID a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date where we can raise a toast to all the great memories.
