Doro, Francesco (Frank)
August 5, 1925- August 15, 2020
With great sadness we announce the loss of this beloved man just after his 95th birthday.
Frank (Ciccillo) was born on August 5th, 1925 in Rutigliano Italy, where he spent his formative years. He joined the Navy hoping to see the world and ended up a POW in Germany for 3 years. After the war he moved to Vancouver, BC at the urging of his grandfather, this is where he spent his life.
Starting out as a laborer in saw mills and rail roads in Donald, Golden and Squamish to name a few places. He became owner of Frank’s Cabaret through happenstance, which he ran from 1955-1980. This is where he met his wife Marianne and went on to start a family.
Frank continued as an entrepreneur owning many other businesses, mainly furniture, with Nostalgia Plus Wicker and Antiques, The Wicker Place, Alright Used Goods and Alright Moving.
In his later years his greatest joy came from spending time with Daughter Emilia, Son in Law Kevin and most precious granddaughters Angelina and Francesca.
He was a loving brother and brother-in-law of Ninetta (Giuseppe predeceased) Doro, Nica (Antonio predeceased) Doro, Maria (Giovanni predeceased) Doro, Angelina and Saverio Sanitate, (Angelo and Maria predeceased) Tagarelli and was Zio (Uncle) to many nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy.
He will be remembered for his quiet strength, resilience and love of his family.
