Born in The Pas, MB, to John and Mary Krezeski (nee Skulimowski). The family moved to Flin Flon, MB, during the Depression. Growing up North of the 54th, Fub braved minus 40 degree winters and was an avid curler and skier. He played junior hockey for the Bombers and worked at HBM&S. In 1959 he married the love of his life, Catherine ‘Kay’ Booker. His favourite singer was Elvis, and he and Kay loved to dance. A jack of all trades, he added another wing to his mother in law’s house. In 1966, they had a son, Derek, and shortly after the family moved to Vancouver so Fub could attend SFU. Most summers, the family traveled back to Flin Flon to visit, where Derek enjoyed berry picking and fishing with his Dad. Fub worked for over 30 years in the auto sales industry. After retiring, he continued to work as a building caretaker, right up until 2021. ‘Papa’ was a beloved grandpa who spent countless hours drawing, playing trains and singing with his grandchildren. He was a beloved uncle to nieces and nephews known for his ‘happy birthday song’. He was also known for his colourful tales of growing up in depression era Flin Flon. In his 80’s he took many adventurous trips with his family to the Panama Canal, Alaska, Paris, Rome, Venice, Athens, the Greek Islands, the Grand Canyon, Disneyland and the Caribbean. Predeceased by Kay, Fub will be sadly missed by his son Derek, daughter-in-law Susan, his grandchildren Brandon and Mia, his many nieces and nephews, and friends.
