Eugenia (Jean) Krupinski

April 2, 1925 — March 20, 2025

Richmond

It is with profound sadness that we announce that Eugenia (Jean) Krupinski (nee Maliszewska), age 99, passed away peacefully March 20, 2025. She was born in Szudzialowo, Poland on April 2, 1925, to Jan and Konstancja. After being captured in WW2 by the Germans at 17, she was taken away from her family and forced to work in labor camps until she was liberated by the Polish Army in Meppen Rosa. This is where she met her husband Stan and married in February of 1946. In 1947 they moved to Pontypprid, Wales and lived there until they emigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1951 where they lived until retiring to Vancouver BC in 1986.

Mom/Grammy is predeceased by her husband Stanislaw (Stan) and her grandson Jamie. She is survived by her son Stan (Leigh), daughter Anne MacLean (Alex) and granddaughters Shae MacLean (Dan Chen) and Kathryn (Katie) MacLean.

Mom/Grammy was a woman of remarkable faith, strength and unwavering love. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who cherished her role as a parent/grandparent, always providing unwavering support, guidance, and unconditional love to her children and grandchildren. She was also the ultimate mother-in-law, never taking sides and providing loving support to all. We were blessed to have had her in our lives for so many years. She loved her family and dedicated herself to help her two children Stan (Jamie) and Anne (Shae and Katie) raise her 3 grandchildren. She instilled in all of us the importance of faith and family celebrating countless birthdays and special occasions with her excellent Polish cooking and prayers recited only in Polish. Mom/Grammy also welcomed the grandchildren’s friends into the family with many having countless memories of Grammy’s famous crepes filled with applesauce and maple syrup in addition to her perogies, cabbage rolls, potato pancakes, etc. Everyone loved coming to Grammy’s house.

Prayers will be offered Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at 7:30 pm at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 4451 Williams Rd. Richmond BC.
