Ernesto passed away at home with his mother, Honoria, and wife, Nicole, by his side at the age of 39 on July 27, 2024.
He was born on July 6, 1985, in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico to Honoria Cota Palacios and Ernesto Rosales Duañes. It’s known as the city that caught the sun and he is known as the man that stole our hearts.
Ernesto came to Canada in 2008 and was so proud to become a Canadian Citizen on January 4, 2022. He was an Elevator Mechanic, and his strong work ethic and winning personality helped him to advance in his career. He had a large collection of tools at home that he happily used to help friends out when he could. He loved to play the piano and took after his father with his talent and keen ear for music. He also loved to play soccer. He was a valued player on his team for his skill as well as his amazing personality.
On January 22, 2024, Ernesto was diagnosed with a brainstem glioma. He underwent six weeks of radiation therapy. Sadly, it did not improve his condition much. During this time Ernesto maintained his gratitude, sense of humor, and his strong appetite for his mother’s famous flour tortillas. His mother and his wife take comfort in the fact that he was able to remain at home with them until the end.
We were so blessed to have such a beautiful soul in our lives. Those who remain will be forever changed because of him; Honoria Cota Palacios (mother), Diana Santana (sister), Blanca Maritza Rosales Cota (sister), Dianna Cecilia Rosales Cota (sister) and Nicole Elise Nelson (wife). He was predeceased by his father, Ernesto Rosales Duañes on November 3, 2023.
