So Young or Erna as she liked to call herself suddenly collapsed and was hospitalized on January 14, 2021. She was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer and could not walk again. Upon her wishes, we brought her home to be with us, her family. Her wish was to walk again to simply take a stroll.
She took her last breath on Palm Sunday, March 28, 2021 at 3 o'clock in the morning.
That day, the heavens cried and wailed with a storm. As the storm was sent to mourn with us, so too was a rainbow sent to us from God as a promise that she was resting in heaven. We took solace that God gifted her with eternal love and peace.
She was freed from her mental illness that hindered her brilliance and beauty since the age of 14. She will be forever remembered and loved by her family, cousins, aunts, and new family of friends.
