Erich Lange, was called home into the presence of Jesus, at the age of 81, on Thursday, May 4, 2023.  The son of Emanuel and Ida Lange, Erich was born on October 10, 1941, in Germany. He immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada with his sister and younger brother in 1959 where he worked in various jobs, but mostly in the construction industry having been trained as a wood worker in Germany.  He loved his family and spent time both in Winnipeg and Vancouver where his siblings and father were situated, until finally settling in Vancouver.  In 1975 he married his wife of 48 years, Antonia and they soon added to their family, building a house in Surrey where they raised their three daughters, and dedicated themselves to following and serving Jesus.  As his family grew, one of his greatest joys was to pour out his love on his grandchildren.  With family and friends, Erich enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and any outdoor activities. He was also an active member at Immanuel Baptist Church and Bethany Baptist Church, often lending a hand using his carpentry skills.  Later in his life, his dedication to faithfully attend and support the church at Westside and then Midtown were just as strong.

Erich is survived by his wife Antonia; daughters, Michelle, Gabrielle and Angelika (Jacob), as well as grandchildren Madison, Lukas and Elizabeth.  He was predeceased by his sisters Berta, Martha, Olga and Pauline, and his parents.  Erich is remembered for his genuine smile, the twinkle in his eye and his love for Jesus.

A celebration remembering the life of Erich will be held at Bethany Baptist Church (22680 Westminster Hwy) in Richmond on Saturday, June 17 at 11 a.m.

The family welcomes donations to Child of Mine (childofmine.ca) in lieu of flowers.
