Emelinda "Linda" Datu, age 81, formerly Areno, passed away on Saturday, Oct 3rd , 2020. She is married to Emmanuel Datu.
Although she came from simple beginnings, Emelinda worked her way through being a dressmaker & mother and when her children finished college, she earned her diploma in Education. Hard work and determination characterized this strong and loving mother, grandmother and wife.
She has been Miss Sweetheart in her Teens and a poet, leading her to be on the air in the radio stations. She lived a full life. She was a member of the Catholic Women's League & Christian Family Movement in the Philippines and a teacher at St. Mary's College and a Cathechist.
She is survived by her children, Jasmin Apolonio & family (grandchildren Ray Jansenn, Hazel Mae and great grand-child George), Evelyn Carlos and her husband Chad Caswell, Roslyn Bauyon and her husband Carlos Lemus and Manuel Datu and his wife Ann and grand child Allen Dominique. Sisters- Josefina Alcala and family, Adoracion Bauyon and family, Virginia Yamaguchi and family, Victoria Hurd and Family, Rosa Maria Areno and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends all over the world.
Due to our current health situation, the Viewing and Funeral Mass will be by invitation only.
