Sadly, on July 15th, 2022 our mother, Ellen Caroline Robertson, passed away at Kiwanis Care Centre in New Westminster, BC. She had been a resident there since September of 2021 when it was determined she required more care than we were able to provide her at home. She was a fighter and held on for much longer than the doctors expected. She was a sweet woman, as stated by so many she spent time with, with a tough exterior and never wanted anyone to see her as weak. She raised us with tough love and gave us the freedom to become who we are today. Through her life, she was faced with many adverse challenges, however, with her strength and fortitude she would always overcome them. She is at rest now and will be missed by so many including her three grandchildren which she loved and adored. We can all take solace that she is now being embraced by those who had left before her.
Our Mom was very artistic, as could be seen by her drawings and leather work. She had a number of passions which included gardening, cooking/baking and, as we all know, her biggest passion was golf. Even when she could no longer golf, she would still go and spend time with the ladies at Mylora Golf Course. She also kept in touch with her high school friends which were all a part of the first grad class of Gladstone High School and had been a part of the grad committee until a few years ago.
The Memorial Service will be held on August 8th, 2022, at 2:00 pm. The service will be held at Kearney Burnaby Chapel located at 4715 Hastings Street, Burnaby BC, V5C 2K8, Phone: 604.299.6889.
A reception will be held at our home following the service. Friends and family are all welcome to join us as we celebrate our Mom’s life and share some good memories of her time with us all.
