Elisabeth passed away peacefully after a long illness at the age of 90 at Arbutus Residential Care Centre. She lived a fulfilling life as a sister, mother, grandmother and friend.
Born Marie Elisabeth Geneviève Treille in the Aquitaine region of France, emigrated to Canada in her 30’s and had a rewarding 30 year career as a French Immersion teacher in Montréal after graduating from McGill University. She retired in Vancouver, BC to rejoin her son. She enjoyed outdoor activities, the beach and regular strolls around Stanley Park. Being part of her grandchildren’s lives was her joy and she was very fond of spending quality time with them and attending their school and recreational functions.
Her compassion & love for her family knew no bounds & all who knew her benefitted from the wisdom that she had gathered during her lifetime. Her abundant love of life & inexhaustible energy shall be deeply missed.
Elisabeth is survived by her sister, Claude Froustey, her son Emeric, daughter-in-law Raquel & grandchildren Bernadette and Isabelle.
To celebrate her life and her 91st birthday, a Memorial Service is scheduled for 5:30pm on May 27th 2020 at St. John’s the Apostle Parish 5457 Trafalgar St., Vancouver, BC
