It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Edward TW Jung on December 28th, 2020, in Vancouver, BC. Ed was born on September 9, 1931, in Guangzhou, China, and immigrated to Canada in 1947.

He began his studies in China in electrical engineering followed by his schooling in Vancouver at King George Secondary and then UBC for civil engineering. He first worked at UBC with Dr. Wood in agricultural sciences and then with Dr. Wada in neurosciences as a Research Associate in the Kinsmen Laboratory for a combined total of more than 40 years. This led Ed to work closely with an international community of epilepsy researchers, mostly Japanese doctors, until his retirement in 1993.

Ed married Betty in 1962 and had 4 children: Michael (Lynett), Susan (deceased), Jeffrey (Eilan), and Kathryn. He was an amazing Grandfather to Alex and Naomi (Michael), and Kaitlyn, Lucas, and Kyle (Jeffrey). Ed or "Gung Gung" would often be seen on the living room floor building airplanes, playing with Lego, and drawing with his grandchildren. His love for animals brought many pets into the family home while his love for cars and music lives on in his family. Most of all he was a practical, gentle, and thoughtful person to our family and friends. He could be called upon to fix almost anything.

Thanks to his physicians, Dr. Ezekiel, Dr. Wu, and Dr. Bernstein, for treating him so well.

The family appreciates the gift of flowers and support that have been received, memorial contributions to the BC Cancer Foundation are also welcomed.

We will miss you!
