Edward “Ed” Black passed away Aug 31,2020. Born and passed in Vancouver, he also spent some of his young life in rural Alberta. He was 84.

Ed was an avid sports-fisherman, spending much of his retirement catching his “hundred dollar a pound” salmon, along with his beloved wife, Jean. He also enjoyed athletics and team sports throughout his life, spending his early years as a “keep fit” instructor and later with slow pitch and badminton. He participated in the BC Senior Games in 2001. Ed’s most notable achievement was his career: Starting as a labourer with the City of Vancouver, he held a superintendent position upon retirement. He was among the last to work his way up and held the respect of those who worked around him. He was loved and will be missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Jean Felchle; his sons, Daniel and Patrick; his stepdaughter, Jennie Provenzano and her husband Donny Provenzano; his siblings Darrell Black and Colleen McDonaugh and his grandchildren, Kelly Black, Kaitlyn Black and Leah Moss
