Born on June 30, 1917 in Saskatoon, Sask; passed away peacefully on October 26, 2010. Predeceased by his loving parents Robert John and Mary Sophia; brothers Joseph, Walter and Robert; first wife Mae; and second wife Joan. Ed will be sadly missed by brother Reg (Terry); son Joe (Karen); daughter Julie; grandchildren Shannon and Ryan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Raised on the family farm in Young, Sask., Ed served his country in the Canadian Army during WWII. After moving to Vancouver with his family in 1946, he worked in the trucking industry before beginning a successful 25 year career delivering furniture and appliances for Eaton’s. With his warm smile and joyful nature, Ed had the pleasure of helping thousands of residents in the Lower Mainland with their new purchases.
Ed enjoyed traveling to South America, Hawaii, Arizona and especially back to visit family and friends in Saskatchewan.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at St. Vincent’s Langara for their dedication and compassion in providing loving care and friendship for the past three years.
A funeral service and interment will take place on Tuesday, November, 2nd at 11 am at Ocean View Burial Park, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby.
