Ron passed away peacefully Sat., April 24, 2010 at age 81 in Vancouver, B.C.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Olga, his daughter Cynthia (Mark), granddaughters Erin and Keaton, stepsons Mark and Kent (Ramona), sister Helen (Pegge) Gilley, and nephews, nieces, in-laws and many friends.

Ron started out in the insurance industry with Great West Life and went on to a distinguished, 27 year career in Vancouver Real Estate.  He was a Director of the Vancouver Real Estate Board and respected by peers and clients for his integrity, knowledge and professionalism.

Ron was a committed YMCA volunteer.  In 1991, YMCA Canada honoured Ron with their most prestigious award, The Fellowship of Honour, presented to him by the Governor General of Canada.

Always thinking of others first, Ron was also a loyal Red Cross blood and platelets donor.

We will all miss Ron’s sense of humour, his easy way with people and his warm smile.

Our family expresses deepest thanks to the staff of Louis Brier Home and Hospital for their affection and caring, and also to the compassionate staff at VGH Palliative Care Unit.

Please join us for Ron’s memorial service on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 11am at the Canadian Memorial United Church, 1806 West 15 Ave. (at Burrard St.), Vancouver, B.C.  Reception follows at Centre for Peace, 1825 West 16 Ave., Vancouver, B.C.
