Doris was not only sharply intelligent, she was a lively and humorous conversationalist, with a knack for story and anecdote, gifts which she shared with all she met. When her children were young, she challenged them to excel scholastically by holding quizzes each tea-time, encouraging them to explore the vast world of knowledge, and filling the house with books for them to grow. As adults, she supported their various endeavors and provided a safe home base to which they oftentimes returned. She cherished her grandchildren and step-grandchildren, and they returned an equal affection. She will be missed.

Memorial service, Christ Church Cathedral, Thursday 14 November 2024 at 2 pm.
