New Westminster - Dora Matilda Breton, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2022, at the age of 87.
She is predeceased by her daughter Teresa, her brothers Jackie, Walter, Eugene, Bernie, her sister Carol and her parents Rose and John.
She is survived by her son David and her daughter Jessica, her grandchildren Ryan, Nicole, Alex, James and her brothers and sisters Eunice, Lavern, Dwight, Ronald, Paula, Jerry and Alma.
Dora, a proud Métis, grew up on a farm near Big Beaver, Saskatchewan. She loved sharing the many stories of growing up in simpler times. She had a wonderful sense of humor, loved a good joke and loved to laugh. Later in life she settled in British Columbia and became an advocate for the Métis people and women's issues. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Dora's family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Buchanan Lodge for all their care and support during her time there.
Memorial Services will be held in Saskatchewan in the Spring of 2023. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Métis Family Services of BC.
