Don is now on his eternal bicycle ride after a valiant effort to win a stage victory against cancer.  A loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and mentor to many, Don leaves in his “dust” and “wake”, his loving wife Elaine, his children Moishe (Nicole), Patrick, Thomas and step-son Adam.  He also leaves behind parents Bob and Ann, sisters Barbara (Tom), Leslie (David), Grandchildren Tevye and Saarah as well as Aunty Doris and cousins.  His passions were cycling, sailing and fishing with F.B. #2.  Also missing Don is his faithful companion Tessa Lu. To Bruce, “He waited for you so he knew I was safe.”
To Drs. Hilliard & Team, Rick Bacchus, Dr. Oja & Cheung, Brown & Mitchenson, Tertiary Care Abbotsford & Staff we are grateful for your commitment to Don’s comfort and peace. To Fr. John and Fr. Gordon, St. Nicholas parish, St. Joseph’s Victoria, your prayers lifted us up.
Prayers will be offered Monday Sept 24th 6:00 pm at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church (20675 – 87th Ave. Langley). Mass to celebrate Don’s life will be offered on Tuesday Sept 25th at 11:00 a.m. A Memorial Service will be held in Victoria in October.  Donations may be made to St. Nicholas Building Fund, Abbotsford Tertiary Hospice Palliative Care Unit or to the BC Cancer Agency.
