It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and peaceful passing of our father Domenico Di Giovanni on January 30, 2024, at the age of 93.
Our father was born on January 3, 1931, in Mirabello Sannitico, Province of Campobasso, Italy. Domenico immigrated to Canada in 1957.
He is predeceased by his wife, Antonietta, his parents Michele and Francesca Di Giovanni, brothers; Carmine, Rafaelle, Isidoro, and Nicola, sisters; Maria Di Biase and Aurelia (Andrea) Candeloro, and brother-in-law Gino Stefani. He will be loved and remembered by his children Michele (Barbara) and Roberto (Linda). He was a cherished Nonno to 4 grandchildren: Laura (Leni), Stefanie (Dylan), Domenico and Antonio. A Bisnonno to 4 great-grandchildren; Marcus, Tristan, August, and Remy. Fondly remembered by his brothers Vittorio, Eugenio, and Antonio and sisters Giuseppina and Elisa in Italy as well as their spouses; in Montreal by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Luigi & Iolanda Caiella and numerous nephews and nieces.
Above all, Domenico was a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished Nonno/Bisnonno. He was always eager to help others; purposeful in everything he did. A man who enjoyed many hobbies and he leaves a lasting impact on all who loved and knew him.
We would like to thank all the staff at Villa Carital for taking such good care of our dad over the last few years. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Feb 9, 2024, at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, 525 South Slocan Street, Vancouver, B.C.
Entombment will follow at the Abbey Mausoleum, Ocean View Burial Park, Burnaby, BC.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of BC.
