Our family is in mourning over the loss of our Mother, Nana and Great Grandma.

Doddie is predeceased by her husband Cy. She is survived by her sons Neil and Scott (Shannon), daughters Marie (Rudy) Rita and Diana (Keith), grandchildren Rebecca, Madeleine, Jackson and Mackenzy, great grandson Finnegan.

Dolores was born in St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, BC on June 10, 1938.  She attended grade 1 at Laura Secord Elementary School before moving permanently to White Rock where she attended White Rock Elementary School and later Semiahmoo Secondary School.

When Dolores was 21 years old, she obtained a customs brokerage licence and went to work at Dennison Raines & Todd Customs Brokers, which later became ABC Customs, along with its affiliate U.S. customs brokerage company Pacific Customs Brokers (PCB).

In 1987, she managed Pac-Ex Services Ltd., the freight company for PCB.  She worked for Jack Todd and later for Glen Todd for a total of 38 years.

Dolores was a stay-at-home mom in the 1960’s and was an executive member of the CWL at Star of the Sea Parish, where she played a big role in raising funds to help build the Parish’s Church hall.

Dolores also worked diligently for the Semiahmoo Minor Hockey Association, doing publicity every week for the papers, and raising funds through such events as dinners and raffles.

In the 1970’s and 1980’s, Dolores held many pool parties and grad parties for her sons.  She was recognized as Chef of the Week by the Vancouver Sun and had recipes in their cookbooks – three of which were published.

After her late husband -Cy Lafleur – had a stroke in 2001, Dolores became very active in the White Rock South Surrey Stroke Recovery Club, where she organized many open houses and dinners, as well as convened many meetings.

Dolores was also part of a Sunset Group where she served on the main executive committee as their treasurer.  For over 35 years, she was very active in many of their fundraising events/ activities until her death.

Dolores loved playing bridge, frequenting Casinos, travelling to Arizona and California, as well as cruising.

Doddie loved her family and friends.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023 at 11am at Star of the Sea Parish (Good Shepherd Church) located at 2250 150 Street, Surrey.  Interment will be at 2:30pm at Gardens of Gethsemani located at 15694 32 Avenue, Surrey.  The reception is at Elgin Hall located at 14250 Crescent Road, Surrey, following the Mass from 12:30pm to 4pm.
