Born in Winnipeg, January 1, 1931, and died on Friday, October 30. She will be greatly and deeply missed. She was a loving, compassionate and extremely generous mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; a bridge Grand Master; fluent in five languages; a member of the Jane Austin society; extremely involved in political life and fund raising. She volunteered with the UBC Crane Library for the blind and for Vancouver Museum. She completed a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manitoba, a second Bachelor of Arts from UBC and then a Diploma of Realty Appraisal from Langara College. She was well known for her intellect and ability to recite poems and songs as well as quote literary works from memory. She was greatly saddened this year by the death of her beloved brother and sister – Arthur (“Boy”) Jobin of Toronto and Stephanie Anderson of Langley. Her husband of 57 years, Ralph Francis Kerr, preceded her in 2010. She leaves behind many relatives and friends: her children - Philip, Stephen (Naoko), Kathy, Peter (Alice), Stuart (Anita); her grandchildren - Mariko (Shaun), Keiko, Tomoyuki, Tristan, Chloe; her great granddaughter, Mayumi Rose; her sister in-law, Claire; and also other relatives in Toronto (the Jobins and Kerrs) and in England (the Stringers, Duffys, Hagans, Kerrs and Connollys), and faithful friend, Truffles.
