In the early hours of June 6th, Deborah Maureen Birch passed away at home, in the presence of her loving husband. First responders tried heroically to revive her but were unable. She was 69 years old, having lived with chronic illnesses for more than 2 decades. Deb had worked most of her life in hospitals until illness prevented her from continuing. She also was a girl guide leader in Canada and a girl scout leader in the United States as well as training other leaders. She was an artist, a musician, a poet and a warm, caring individual who was a loving wife, a mother and grandmother. She was beloved by many with friends all over the world, and will be greatly missed. She leaves behind a loving husband a son, daughter and 4 grandchildren as well as 4 stepdaughters and their children and her brothers and sisters. Wanting to leave a legacy so people would know who she was, she published a book of her poetry, dedicated to her grandchildren, titled "A Quality of Crows" which was illustrated by her husband and may be found on Amazon. There will be a celebration of life on Sunday June 25th, details will be posted on her Facebook page, "Deborah Sweetsilverbird Birch".
