David left this world gently just as he had lived his life... Gentle and kind, loving and generous, courageous and intelligent and with a wonderful sense of humour. All who knew David agree he was a true gentleman. Predeceased by his wife Ann, he also cherished his family, Rodney, (Barb) Brenda, Yvonne, and dearly missed younger brother Michael (Beryl) as well as his four generations of nieces and nephews both in Toronto and the U.K. Never forgetting Ann's family Alicia and David, Julia and Sean. David had a strong bond with many friends and in particular those who visited him daily in hospital...Andrea, Jenny, Ray, Shelley, Birchana, Wayne, Jarrod, Marcel,  and those who kept him in their prayers over all the years of his health struggles, Keith, Gale and Bev.  David had a passion for many things in life such as collecting beautiful things, which include his prized Rolls Royce Silver Shadow, books, music and travel. Above all though, was his continued quest for knowledge. He studied at UBC (and was granted his degree on March 25th) attended Christchurch College, Oxford, for summer courses, and anywhere else that led him to learn more about our world. David will be cremated and his ashes returned to Oxford and placed with his beloved wife Ann. True to his wishes and manner of living there will be a Celebration of his Life when we will raise a glass and share stories. Yvonne will advise you all of the place and time. If anyone wishes to make a donation in his honor please consider St. Paul's Hospital 604-682-2344.
