It is with great sorrow, that we announce the passing of Mr. David Lee Dueck. David, a great son, husband, father, family man, business partner and friend to many, passed away suddenly and far too early on April 1st 2024 due to heart failure. David was 59.
David's passing will be mourned by his mother, Sherry, who was a loving mother, grandmother and a great friend of David’s. David will be deeply missed by Angela Dueck, and their children: daughter Georgia (and her soon to be husband Geoff), son James (wife Zeenah), their wonderful twin daughters Demi and Lucy. David is predeceased by his father, David Curtis Dueck.
David was born on November 17, 1964, in Vancouver, British Columbia. He attended high school at Ridley College in St. Catharines, Ontario, and Neuchatel Junior College in Switzerland before attending and graduating in business from Simon Fraser University in BC.
David was a lover of life, making the most of each and every day. He loved to travel with his family exploring different countries and cultures. He was a lover of fast cars, the great outdoors and keeping fit and was often seen riding his bike throughout the Vancouver mainland.
David was introspective and thoughtful, but also highly social, well liked, and possessed a great wit. He had many good friends in life but a few in particular who have spent much time with him over the past forty years. He will be dearly missed.
David, like his father and grandfather before him, was a true entrepreneur. He was passionate about innovation and forever looking forward. As a third-generation family entrepreneur David not only helped manage various Dueck family business ventures over the years he also identified, supported and/or started many other new business ventures of his own.
David, like the Dueck men before him, was driven by business, but always placed family above all else. He adored his family and was deeply involved in their lives and helping to guide and prepare them for life. He was very proud of their accomplishments and the people they had become. He was very much looking forward to the marriage celebrations of both Georgia and James this coming summer. They know their father will be with them this summer in spirit, and with all of his children, now and forever, as they create families of their own.
A celebration of life will be announced and held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated: www.heartandstroke.ca/donations\
