David passed away unexpectedly at the age of 74 on January 10th, 2020 at his home in Vancouver, B.C.
David was born in Campbellton, New Brunswick, the son of Margaret M. Smith and Archibald W. Farwell, but he lived in Vancouver for most of his adult life where he worked as a group therapist and social worker at Saint Paul’s Hospital. He was predeceased by Robin Blaser, his partner of 33 years, and his brother Ronald. He will be lovingly remembered and much missed by his family, Jean Farwell (sister-in-law); Heather and Stephen Dickinson (niece and husband); Mark and Carolyn Farwell (nephew and wife); Lesley Lutes (god-daughter); special friend and housemate Sarah Kennedy, and the many friends who held him dear. Burial will take place at the Fraser Cemetery, 100 Richmond Street in New Westminster on 4 February at 11 am.
A celebration of life will be held in June.
