David Alexander Kuznecov

David Alexander “Alex” Kuznecov passed away on December 13, 2024. He was predeceased by his mother Marina, father Walter, and sister Vera. Alex is survived by his partner Alice, son Curtis (Amanda), granddaughter Anna, brother Michael (Sonia) and niece Micha. 

Alex was born in Edmonton, and grew up as a chess prodigy, travelling the world to play amongst the highest-ranking players. After high school, Alex moved to the Vancouver area to attend Simon Fraser University, where he studied Finance and later spent his career.

Alex loved travelling, especially to sporting events with his son, and those memories will live on forever. He also loved animals, especially his cat, and enjoyed singing.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at Russian Orthodox Holy Trinity Church, 710 Campbell Ave, Vancouver on January 3rd at 10:00 a.m.
