Dan passed away suddenly at home on the morning of July 29, 2019.  He will be dearly missed

by Ellen his wife of 43 years, sister-in-law Phil and cousins Vivian and Frank.  Dan was born in

Vancouver and lived in the city his entire life.  He was very involved with the BC Regiment

from a young age, first as a cadet and then as a Sergeant in the Reserves.  He attended various

Regimental ceremonies including two trips to Normandy to commemorate WW11 anniversaries.

Dan was very involved in ballroom dancing at Arthur Murray’s dance studio, including being

their official videographer.  He helped record the progress of hundreds of students.  Dan and

Ellen met at Fred Astaire’s studio in 1973 so dancing has always held a special place in their

hearts.  Dan will be missed by his many colleagues at the Regiment  and the many friends at the

dance studio.  Dan was a long-time member of the IWA and a former employee of the

Vancouver School Board.  A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM on September 8th at the

BC Regiment Drill Hall,620 Beatty Street, Vancouver. In lieu of flowers a donation to the BC

Lung  Association or the Vancouver SPCA would be greatly appreciated.
