Lee, Cynthia

Cynthia passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 24th, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer that she handled with inspiring grace and strength. Predeceased by her husband, Carlton Lee, and remembered by her daughter Tracey Lee, her son and daughter-in-law Robert and Patience Lee and grandchildren, William and Hannah. She will be greatly missed by her siblings, Monica, Trevor, Merle, Daisy, Vivia and many extended family.

Born in Jamaica, Cynthia and Carlton immigrated to Vancouver with their young family. She dedicated her life to bring positivity and strength to her family and friends and we could not have asked for a better mom, sister, aunt, and Grandie. We were blessed to have her in our lives.

She shared her love for learning and children by spending the final years of her life as a special education teaching assistant at Anderson Elementary School where she was a joy and inspiration to her colleagues and students.

Evening prayers will be 7:00 pm, Wednesday, August 29th at Kearney Funeral Services (450 W 2nd Ave., Vancouver, V5Y 1E2), and a funeral mass and reception will be held the following day 10 am, Thursday, August 30th at St. Augustine’s Church (2028 West 7th Avenue, Vancouver, V6J 1T4).

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the teams at VGH, LGH and BC Cancer Agency for their kind and compassionate care and asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to BC Cancer Agency in Cynthia’s name.
