Christina was born in Vancouver, BC, on July 6, 1914 and passed away peacefully at the age of 102 years on February 23, 2017 at St. Paul’s Hospital, Vancouver. Christina lived her entire life in Kitsilano and knew the history of the area from its earliest days.
She is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Purves; by her husband, Tom; and by her cousins, Nora Wood and Josephine Derrick. Christina is sadly missed by her loving son Bruce, and by her nieces and nephews.
To Bruce, his dear mother was a protector, mentor, and best friend. They cared for each other deeply and had the privilege of growing old together.
Christina had a long, well−lived life, but "nothing gold can stay." Nevertheless, it is also true that memories are golden and remain with us forever.
