It is with great sadness that the family of Charles Tsang announces his passing on December 21, 2019, at the age of 65 in Vancouver, BC. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Christina, daughters Allison and Karen, his siblings Donald (Selina), YP (Betty), Norman (Jan), Adrian, and Katherine.
Charles was born in Hong Kong to parents William and Maria (Kwong) Tsang. He immigrated to Canada in 1973 to study Chemical Engineering at the University of Alberta where he met his wife, Christina, and he continued his post-graduate studies at Cornell University. Charles founded Phase Technology in 1989 with his brother Norman in Richmond, BC. The company specializes in test instruments to measure cold flow properties, and their products are distributed across the globe. Charles had a rewarding career and cherished his relationships with his colleagues.
Charles and Christina retired in 2017 and loved traveling the world together. Charles had a scientific mind and enjoyed creative hobbies such as cooking, gardening, and photography. Above all, Charles was a devoted husband and father; he was a warm, loving person who cared deeply about people. He also had a particular fondness for dogs, especially his beloved Kody.
In 2005, Charles returned to the Catholic Church under the spiritual guidance of Father J. Soria who changed his perspective on life and helped Charles understand the importance of following God’s will, and His alone. Charles continued to have a strong faith until his last day.
