Larson, Carol Joy (nee Haynes), loving mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus, at home July 7th, 2019, at the age of 88. She was born December 23, 1930 in Vancouver to Rev. Arthur and Edna Haynes. Carol was predeceased by her devoted husband Cecil in January 2011. She is survived by her daughters Sheryl (Harvey) Holmstrom, Cynthia (Walter) Modesto, Heather Booth, Alison McBride (Mike Warren), and Linnea (Paul) Sedun, as well as fourteen grandchildren and ten precious great-grandchildren, four siblings; David, Noel, and Harold Haynes and Edith Nelson and many much loved nephews and nieces that held a special place in her heart.
Carol earned her Psychiatric Nursing Degree in 1952 and worked in New Westminster until 1987, when she retired as Director of Nursing. On February 3, 1953, she married Cecil Larson and they were happily married for nearly 58 years. Carol had a passion for sewing and used her talent to create numerous outfits for friends and family. Several wedding dresses, tailored suits, along with countless little girl dresses were worn and admired by many. She was also known and admired for her wisdom, strength and unwavering faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and diligently prayed for each of them and treasured their visits.
A Memorial Service in honor of Carol will be held Thursday, July 25th at 1:00 pm at Maple Ridge Baptist Church. Services provided by Kearney Funeral Services.
