Kresitschnig- Carol Ann (née Irwin) passed away peacefully after a long struggle with COPD at Point Grey Private Hospital, Vancouver B.C. on June 11, 2021. Carol was born in Kamloops, B.C. on December 31, 1946; the eldest daughter of the late Rev. Canon Selby and Vera (Coell) Irwin. Carol is survived and will be dearly missed by her loving husband Leo, sister Beverly Irwin (Kerr Clark), niece Susan Crowe (Russell), grandnephews Adam and David Crowe, Auntie Norma Coell, cousin Murray (Corinne Coell) as well as many other family and friends.
Carol had a successful career at CIBC bank where she made lifelong friends. She loved her life of adventures with her husband Leo; taking them on many trips to Austria to visit Leo’s family, Sun Valley Idaho, Hood River Oregon, Palm Desert California and Baja Mexico. Carol enjoyed many years of cross country skiing with friends in Sun Valley and playing many rounds of golf with family and friends. She was famous for her “chip ins”. Carol was an avid reader, and loved to share her books with others. In the last 10 years Carol and Leo lived at Tapestry (UBC) where she enjoyed many happy times. She was a beloved friend and sister to both Bev and Pat Pecka (deceased 2014) and generous of her time and love to her family and friends.
Thank you to the wonderful staff at Point Grey Private Hospital where Carol lived for the last 11 months. She described her nurses as “angels” and so appreciated the care she received. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Mary's Anglican Church ( Kerrisdale) at 2490 West 37th Avenue on August 31st, 2021 at 2pm.
