Carmen Kwai Fong CHAN

January 31, 1946 – October 19, 2020

Following a lengthy battle with MDS, Carmen passed away on October 19, 2020 in her home at the age of 74 years. She will be fondly remembered by her loving family, husband James of 48 years; two sons, Michael (Tina, grandchildren Trinity and Matthew) and youngest son John.

Carmen was born in Hong Kong. Loving daughter of the late Hon Chan and late Yue Sin Li. Carmen grew up with her 3 dear younger brothers: Thomas, Vincent and Henry. Raised up in a happy family, Carmen had built strong family value.

Carmen attended a prestige Catholic secondary school at Sacred Heart Canossian College. She was baptized on April 9, 1962 at Catholic Cathedral, Hong Kong.

Love at first sight. Carmen and her husband James met each other through workplace in 1971 and got married in 1972. Within 3 years of marriage, Carmen was blessed with two sons Michael and John. In 1984, Carmen and her family moved to North America. While adapting to live in a foreign country, she had built some solid friendships with Late Thomas and Christine Yeung, Peter and Patsy Ly, and Dennis and Selina Chow.

Carmen was a devoted Catholic. At middle age, she was an active parishioner. With her artistic talent, she had been volunteered over fifteen years to prepare flower arrangements for Sunday Masses.  Carmen settled in Vancouver when her grandson Matthew was born in 2005.

Carmen was a cheerful, enthusiastic and warmhearted person. She will be deeply missed and will be in our hearts forever.
