It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts to announce the passing of Byron Jay “BJ” Manliclic on Friday December 9, 2022.
BJ enjoyed singing as a young boy and started to learn to play the guitar as a teenager. His talent for music continued on as he taught himself to play other musical instruments and performed with his bandmates.
BJ was loving, engaging, kind, joyful and generous. His friends and family members will remember him most for his ability to make people laugh. He loved seeing his friends and family enjoying and having fun together. As a nurse, he brought laughter to his work family and residents of UBC Purdy Pavilion.
Family was everything to BJ. He is very proud of his marriage and of his two sons. Although it was a short period of time, BJ expressed and showed his profound love to his family.
He was a friend and a brother to many, a dear son to Rosana and Leopoldo, a wonderful loving and caring husband to Chrizel and father to Brien and Blaine. He will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends. BJ was predeceased by his grandparents, uncles, aunt and cousins.
Our sincere gratitude and heartfelt thanks to the excellent care he received from St. Paul’s Hospital (Emergency Department, Cardiac Cath Lab and Cardiac Surgery ICU).
BJ’s viewing will take place at the Cathedral of our Lady of the Holy Rosary 646 Richards Street, Vancouver on December 22nd at 9:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. A brief reception at Mountain View Celebration Hall 5455 Fraser Street, Vancouver, BC at 1:00 PM.
