Brian Nielsen is survived by his sister Brenda, her husband Bob and her children Karen, Carla and Wayne. He packed a lot into his life, truly a Free Spirit. As a young man he worked part time for CP Rail, and then travelled to Europe, visiting many art galleries, and meeting some of his Danish relatives. On his return to Vancouver, he worked in a travel agency. He later moved to New Zealand, where he met his wife Cathie. On their return to Vancouver, he worked as a purchasing agent, and later as a care aid in group homes for young people with disabilities. Some of his many interests were music, especially jazz and classical, dancing, having parties, and cooking for his friends. Brian was an avid cyclist who never owned a car. He is remembered with fondness by his former partner Patti and the two boys that they raised together, Michael and Colin. He is greatly missed by his family and friends.
