Colwell, Brian Arthur met his peace on Sunday July 24th, 2016 at Royal Columbian Hospital at the age of 71. He was born in the small town of Cumberland on Vancouver Island on March 17, 1945. He was the middle child of the Colwell clan. Brian is predeceased by both his parents, George and Rose, as well as his sister Joyce and close brother Bob. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 52 years, Shirley, his daughter Barbara (Randy) and his son Stephen (Jackie). Papa will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Eric, Katelyn and Kyle. Surviving Colwell siblings Larry (Terry), Joan, Dianne (Bob), Janet (Lloyd) and June( Darryl) along with his extensive Rieger family and numerous nieces and nephews, made for a full and loving family. Brian learned the value of hard work at an early age and his early love of all things cars, transformed into a long career as a heavy duty mechanic and marine mechanic for almost 40 years. Brian's active life involved many adventures with family and friends; with a love of off-roading, camping, fishing which included his much loved second home in the Cariboo. Ever the handyman, Brian renovated many a project and became skilled at many other trades. The service for Brian will be held at St. Francis de Sales Church in Burnaby, 6610 Balmoral Street on Saturday July 30th at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Church basement Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations gratefully accepted to the MS Society.
