After a life well lived, Barbara (Bobbie) Boehm, 95, Vancouver, BC Canada, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024 surrounded by family and close friends.

Creating a loving family was the driving force in Bobbie’s life, guided by her deep religious faith.  She was happiest when her family was together sharing life events (reunions, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, holidays, cruises).  She had a wry sense of humor, enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and had many hobbies including world wide travel, her library book club, knitting, games of cribbage and her university women’s group.  She was actively involved in her community and volunteered her time in Girl Scouts and Girl Guides and was recently recognized for over 65 years of service.

Bobbie was born February 3, 1929 in Menominee Michigan.  She was married to her husband of 61 years, Robert L. Boehm who passed away October 7, 2012 at the age of 86. She is survived by her seven children: Gretchen, Connie, Fritz, Paula, Kurt, Gerry, Liesl and their spouses; 16 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and six nieces and nephews.

Bobbie was a lifelong caregiver and created memorable traditions for her family.  She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at MacMurray College and her Master’s in Counseling from Fairfield University.  She spent many years as a stay at home Mom, Girl Scout/Guide Leader, and swimming instructor.  Bobbie’s professional career included positions such as the Head Counselor of Basic Occupation Education at the Board of Cooperative Education Services in Elmsford New York, as the Counsellor of the Life Skills Training Program at the Surrey Rehabilitation Society in Surrey BC, the Coordinator of Woodlands Adult Education Project at Douglas College in New Westminster BC,  the Services Coordinator for the Disability Resource Center at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver BC and the Acting Coordinator for the Services for Students with Disabilities at Langara College in Vancouver BC.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, July 18th at 10:00 am at Saints Peter and Paul Parish, 1430 West 38th Avenue, Vancouver BC. A Reception will follow the service. Burial services will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, Saint Margaret Section, Menasha, Wisconsin.

She cast her love wide and will be missed dearly but now she will be reunited with her husband, the love of her life, in heaven.  “Wasn’t this a nice party!”

A Private Family Viewing will be held at Laemmrich Chapel, 312 Milwaukee Ave., Menasha at 1 pm.
