Biljana Adamovic

In the late hours of the first day of Spring, on March 20th, 2025, surrounded by her family, Biljana Adamovic peacefully passed away.

She was born on February 14th, 1968, in the city of Novi Sad, Serbia to Gradimir and Milena Stamenkovic. She spent her childhood in the town of Mali Zvornik, which is nestled in the hills enveloping the river Drina. It is there where she developed deep bonds with family and friends that followed her throughout her lifetime. In 1987 she met her husband, Milan Adamovic, sparks flew, and they got married in 1993. After which they immigrated to Canada in 1995 where they had two sons, Lazar and Svetislav. There they created a home, and established roots for a life full of love and care for one another, and immense love for Lazar and Svetislav.

Throughout Biljana’s life, her warm welcoming nature and limitless enthusiasm for human connection earned her many informal titles – advisor, mentor, and emotional anchor to name a few. Others describe Biljana as the “life of the party” as she was the glue that drew people together, both her in-person circle of friends and companions from far away across the sea. Always amiable to animals, she was surrounded by many furry and feathered friends as well. Never one to take life too seriously, šale were guaranteed in her presence. Her smile was infectious and her heart even more so. After raising her two sons, her ceaseless compassion drew her to a career as an Educational Assistant, where she continued to positively impact people’s lives.

Biljana’s boundless compassion and generosity touched countless lives, and the ripples of her kindness will carry on long after her passing.

The funeral will be held on March 31st.

• The church service will be held at 11 am at St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in Vancouver
• The funeral will take place at Sunny Side Cemetery in Surrey at 2 pm
• The reception will take place at Beecher Place, Crescent Beach, Surrey, at 3 pm

U kasnim satima prvog dana proleća, 20. marta 2025. godine, okružena porodicom, mirno se ugasila naša draga Biljana Adamović.

Biljana se rodila 14. februara 1968. godine u Novom Sadu, od oca Gradimira i majke Milene. Detinjstvo je provela u Malom Zvorniku, gradiću na obroncima brda koja okružuju reku Drinu. Čvrste veze sa porodicom i prijateljima koje je tamo stvorila pratile su je ceo život. Budućeg supruga, Milana, upoznala je 1987. godine u Beogradu, a venčali su se 1993. godine. Dve godine kasnije otišli su u Kanadu gde su dobili dva sina, Lazara i Svetislava. U Kanadi su stvorili dom i korene za život pun ljubavi i brige jedno za drugo kao i neizmerne ljubavi za Lazara i Svetislava.

Zbog njene prirodne topline, i želje i truda da ostvari iskrene i duboke veze sa ljudima, dobila je mnoga nezvanična zvanja – savetnica, mentor i emotivno sidro, između ostalih. Mnogi su je smatrali “life of the party” jer je bila kao lepak koji je spajao ljude, bilo da se radi o ljudima iz njene neposredne blizine, ili onima preko okeana. Večita zaljubljenica u životinje, bila je okružena mnoštvom ljubimaca. Nije uvek shvatala život previše ozbiljno, pa su šale u njenom prisustvu bile zagarantovane. Smeh joj je bio zarazan, ali njena duša još više. Nakon što je podigla dva sina, zbog svoje ogromne empatije započela je karijeru pomoćnika u nastavi, gde je ponovo imala priliku da pozitivno utiče na živote drugih.

Kroz neograničenu empatiju i širokogrudost, Biljana je dotakla mnoge ljude. Odraz njene dobrote nastaviće da źivi dugo nakon njenog odlaska.

Sahrana će biti održana 31. marta 2025. godine.

- Opelo će se odrźati u srpskoj pravoslavnoj crkvi Sveti Sava u Vankuveru, u 11 časova

- Sahrana će se održati u Sunnyside Lawn Cemetery, Surrey, u 14 časova

- Daća će se održati u Beecher Place, Crescent Beach, Surrey, u 15 časova
