With sorrow, we announce the passing of our much loved mother and Oma with loving family by her side at the age of 88 at Fellburn Care Centre in Burnaby. Mom was born in Geertruidenberg, the Netherlands, and came to Canada as a new bride in 1958.  Audrey was predeceased by her husband Richard in 2002. She will be greatly missed by her sons John, Andy (Marina), daughters Mary (David), Shirley (Kim) and grandchildren Shannon, Adriana (Mike), Krista, Davis, Richard (Danielle), David and great grandchildren Olivia, Jorja and Taylor. She also leaves many relatives and friends in both Canada and the Netherlands. The family wishes to further express its gratitude to all who came to visit and support Mom after her terrible fall in June 2008 that left her a quadriplegic, in particular Alice and Nick Boons and special friend Elizabeth. Mom was a devout Catholic and strong believer in family and tradition. Prayer service will be held at St. Peter’s Parish on Monday, April 5, 2010 at 6:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday April 6, 2010 at noon at St. Peter’s 330 Royal Ave, New Westminster, interment St. Peter’s Cemetery. The Boons family wishes to thank the dedicated staff at Royal Columbian, Queen’s Park, G.F. Strong and Fellburn Care Centre for their compassion and kindness.   In lieu of flowers donations to the Rick Hansen Foundation or BC Cancer Society would be appreciated.
